Pinecrest Golf Course

Pinecrest Golf Course, in Alexandria, VA, is owned and operated by the Fairfax County Park Authority. Pinecrest installed a Clivus Multrum Trailhead Composting Toilet System on the golf course in November, 2005.

Due to the site’s distance from local sewer lines, the Clivus system is far less costly than flush toilets. In addition to saving money, the Trailhead conserves and renews natural resources—using no water for flushing and converting waste into compost and liquid fertilizer. The compost system end-products will be used on-site for plant fertilization.
