Overlooking Lake Vermillion, Fortune Bay Resort Casino’s Wilderness golf course is one of the most scenic in Minnesota. Opened in the spring of 2004, the Wilderness serves around 24,000 golfers annually.

In order to provide the maximum level of convenience for golfers, Wilderness management decided to include small restroom facilities at two locations on the golf course. However, great distance from the sewer and the site’s rocky terrain made it unfeasible to install flush toilets and a conventional wastewater treatment system at one of those sites. Rather than choosing a portable toilet, the course opted for an odorless Clivus Multrum Trailhead Composting Toilet System. In addition to providing added convenience for golfers, the Clivus conserves water and provides the Wilderness with a free source of fertilizer and compost.
